I’ve always loved telling stories. It started at the lunch table in elementary school, when I would animatedly tell my friends any tale that came to mind. Now, I am fortunate to be able to tell more lasting stories. I’ve always felt lucky that just by holding a camera, people have let me into their lives.
I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where I double majored in photojournalism and sports administration. While at Carolina, I was given incredible opportunities, like the chance to stay with fishermen on the Galapagos Islands, but also learned valuable lessons, like some of the most powerful stories may be right down the road if you open up.
Now, I’m at Arizona State University going for my masters in sports journalism. I love sports and the way they connect us, and to me, that’s what journalism is all about.
